In 2018, we realized a very special project: a snowPRO100 was to be installed on the summit of the Titlis to produce snow all year round. Visitors from all over the world can thus experience a real snow pleasure. Likewise, the snow produced is used to maintain the snow cover.

The installation of a CTI snowPRO on the Titlis glacier in Engelberg presented us with some challenges. On the one hand, the transport from the valley up to the summit as well as the actual installation height of 3020 meters were the crucial points that we were able to master successfully. In 2018, we installed from CTI snowPRO eine Anlage zur Gletscherbeschneiung auf dem Titlisgeltscher in Engelberg. Die Anlage bietet eine Beschneiung das ganze Jahr über und so Schneevergnügen für alle Besucher aus der ganzen Welt. Der produzierte Schnee wird ebenso dafür verwendet werden, um Risse auszubessern und verschmutzten Schnee zu erneuern. Eine Schneeschmelze durch zu starkem Sonneneintrag kann so entgegengewirkt werden. Eine wesentliche Herausforderung war dabei die Durchführung der Installation der Anlagen. KTI snowPRO besitzt als einziger Hersteller vergleichbarer Anlagen eine eigene Entwicklung und Produktion von Anlagen zur Beschneiung bei positiven Temperaturen. Nur dadurch konnten wir eine Lösung ausarbeiten, die auf die Problemstellung des Kunden eine perfekte Lösung bietet: Für den Transport war ein gewisses Maximalgewicht vorgeschrieben. Wir haben daher die klassische snowPRO100 divided into matching modules. Each of the modules was then transported separately up the mountain and easily reassembled at the top. A solution was also found for the complex installation situation. Instead of a classic 40-foot container, two 20-foot containers were used and the plant components fitted in accordingly.

KTI snowPRO technology from Bangkok to Taiwan

Indoor snowmaking in a so-called Snow Dome in Southeast Asia.

About 17 CTI snowPRO systems are now in use in Southeast Asia. They are used to generate snow in so-called snow domes or ski halls. The advantage: Due to the technology of snow production at positive temperatures, the halls do not have to be cooled down in an energy-intensive way. CTI snowPRO hat auch hier wieder einmal in diesem Bereich mit Innovation und "Out-of-the-Box"-Gedanken überzeugt. Several Snow Town branded snow halls have been opened in several metropolitan cities in Southeast Asia such as Jakarta, Bangkok, Shanghai, Saigon and Taipei in recent years. KTI snowPRO liefert für allesamt die benötigte Technologie um den Schnee zuverlässig das ganze Jahr über zu erzeugen. Die 1000 - 4000 m² großen Schneehallen werden in Unterhaltungs- und Einkaufszentren integriert. Je nach Größe und benötigtem Schnee haben wir bis zu viel Anlagen vom Typ snowPRO100 tropical installiert und vor Ort in Betrieb genommen. Da die Attraktion das ganze Jahr geöffnet ist, haben wir eine snowPRO with specially developed for climatic conditions to produce snow at temperatures up to +35°C. A major advantage is that the hall itself does not have to be cooled down much, thus avoiding costly installations.

Freestyle World Cup

Freestyle World Cup in Switzerland with KTI snowPRO makes it possible.

CTI snowPRO systems have always been used for snowmaking in freestyle competitions. Even for the world's top athletes, the snow quality of our systems is convincing. That is why the freestyle event in Chur took place again in October 2022. Together with the company snowbox GmbH we have from CTI snowPRO to success at the FIS Freestyle World Cup for men and women in Chur. A facility of the type snowPRO70 produziert dabei ca. 70 m³ Schnee pro Tag um die Rampe mit Schnee zu belegen. Trotz widrigem Wetter mit warmen Winden und Regen ist das Event zu einem großen Erfolg geworden. Die Sportler als auch Verantwortliche für die Präparierung der Rampe waren von dem Ergebnis begeistern und das Event konnte ohne Probleme durchgeführt werden. Bereits 2014 stellten wir die allerersten snowPRO systems in Zurich for snow production at a similar event. This confirmed the path for the technology and its use in the event sector even then.

Snow fun in the Sauerland

In 2014, one of our first snowPRO systems went into operation in the Sauerland region. With a snow production of 210 m³ per day, the snow pleasure for winter sports enthusiasts could be partially secured and thus also tourism, an important source of income in this region, could be maintained. In the meantime, 8 of our snowPRO systems are in operation there for snowmaking independent of weather conditions at plus degrees.

KTI snowPRO as a guarantor for the opening of the season

Snow uncertainty is a critical factor for winter tourism. With the CTI snowPRO technology, we have created new opportunities for a ski resort in Sauerland, Germany, in that the season can now be planned and snow is guaranteed. In addition to the first installation in 2014, seven other lifts followed in the region, which were equipped with the technology from CTI snowPRO are equipped.  Already in 2014 we are equipping from CTI snowPRO eine Region im Sauerland mit einer Anlage zur Beschneiung bei Plusgraden aus. Das unsichere Wetter und schwankende Temperaturen spielten eine immer größere Rolle beim Thema Schneesicherheit, wenn es um die Planung der Eröffnung des Skigebiets ging. Aufgrund seiner Lage zieht das beliebte Skigebiet deutsche Wintersportbegeisterte aber auch englische, niederländische und dänische Skifahrer an. Vier Jahre später, in 2018, folgte eine weitere Installation von zwei Anlagen vom Typ snowPRO210 und bereits in 2019 weitere zwei gleicher Bauart. Insgesamt kann der Wintersport-Ort nun mit sechs Anlagen von echter Schneesicherheit sprechen. Alle installierten Anlagen erzeugen dabei Scherbeneis, welches über einen mechanischen Prozess in Schnee verwandelt wird. 2020 wurde die erste Anlage vom Typ snowPRO260 installed. With plate ice as a real alternative to flake ice, the success story of this technology, which is extremely energy-efficient and effective for snowmaking at plus degrees, begins here. In 2022, another of the same type followed in order to continue to guarantee snow reliability for winter sports enthusiasts and to ensure plannability for the important economic sector of tourism.
